Ryan Cavanaugh is an FBI Agent who helped Lilly Rush to identify serial killer Paul Shepard.

History[]

He showed up after the post officer was shot, causing him to reveal that Diane Yates wasn't allowed to be on the case.

It is later revealed that he used to have a young fiancée who died of an illness. He had a romantic connection with Lilly when they investigated the unsolved 1969 murder of David Quinn at Woodstock.
