Paul McBride was a past victim in "Blood on the Tracks".
During his college years in the 70s, McBride befriended Jack Kimball, Johanna, Porter Rawley and Tom "Z" Zimmerman, and fell in love with Sara Lowell. However, Porter claimed McBride frequently cheated on Sara.
Along with his college friends, McBride was an activist who protested against the Vietnam War. With the exception of Sara, they eventually joined the Jones Family, a radical anti-war student group who promoted violence for change by setting off bombs in public places. Jack was the leader of the group and became an inspiration for McBride.
Around 1971, McBride accidentally set off a bomb prematurely while planting it, killing himself. The rest of the gang left him there dying and covered up their involvement as well as the truth for the next 10 years, leaving Sara and McBride's father, Roger, in grief, with the latter not understanding why his son did what he did.
