Clem Garris was the victim in "8 Years". He and his friends Petey, Sally and May Pierson graduated from high school in 1980. The next eight years didn't go so well for them.
Clem and Sally married straight out of high school since he got her pregnant, but quickly fell out of love. Petey's college football dreams fell apart and May came back to town. Petey became a carjacker for local gangster Henry Mack. Clem started helping out Petey.
One night, Clem confessed his feelings for May and they decides to run away together. They stole a car meant for Henry. Henry caught up to them and shot Clem dead. He died on the side of the freeway in May's arms. She fled just as the ambulance arrived.
Clem's case was reopened in 2006 when May was taken back to Philadelphia from Atlantic City. Petey eventually confessed that he had already killed Henry. May went back after the case was solved and imagined seeing Clem.
